Town Pump Charitable Foundation is matching $1,000,000 in contributions during its 20th annual fundraising campaign for food banks across Montana, including Bigfork Food Bank.
Friends of Bigfork Fire Dept. give out 50k prize during annual fundraiser
The Friends of Bigfork Fire Department gave away $50,000 during their 15th annual fundraiser to a lucky person who was able to make the hole-in-one shot. Friends of Bigfork Fire Department President Jim Sticka said Kerry Viestenz from Oregon was the first to make the shot since the organization started offering the prize at the event.
Meet Jo Waddell: Favorite Teacher in Best of Bigfork
Jo Waddell is a 23-year-old third grade teacher from Colorado who moved to Bigfork and started her career at Bigfork Elementary right before the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. She won Favorite Teacher and Favorite Local Newbie for Best of Bigfork.
The Bigfork Community Players Present "The Kitchen Witches"
The Bigfork Community Players have been trying to present The Kitchen Witches for almost two years after being thwarted by COVID-19. Isobel Lomax (played by Shannon Bagley) and Dolly Biddle (played by Jodie Thole) are two "mature" cable-access cooking show hostesses who have hated each other for thirty years. When circumstances bring them together on a TV show called The Kitchen Witches, the insults are flung harder than the food.

An event celebrating the Best of Bigfork will take place on October 26 in the lobby of the Bigfork Center for the Performing Arts from 5:30-7:00. The event is open to the public and will include food and refreshments. The Best of Bigfork edition will run October 27 with our regular publication.
Bigfork Senior Center tentatively moving buildings to offer patrons better accessibility
The Bigfork Senior Center is moving buildings in hopes they will be able to offer more programming and accessibility to patrons.

On the afternoon of Oct. 11, 2021, Larry “Oren” Metzger passed away at St Peter’s Hospital in Helena, due to complications of COVID-19. At the time of his passing, he was surrounded by his loving family. Oren was 60 years young.

In the early days of Bigfork there were a couple places to stay in the burgeoning town, but the best known has always been the Bigfork Hotel, one day destined to be the Bigfork Inn. Nestled at the base of a hill at the north end of town, its central location has allowed it to be a focal point of the community for decades.

The Vikings football squad remains undefeated after punishing Anaconda, both soccer teams are gearing up for first-round playoff matchups Saturday and the volleyball squad looked dominant in a win over Troy.
