After missing out on 2020 due to COVID 19, the Bigfork Boosters will be hosting their 22nd annual barbecue fundraiser at 3311 Montana Highway 83 Saturday, Aug. 29.

The event, which has traditionally been held at the Flathead Lake Lodge each May, was moved to the new time and location this year as the Lodge was unable to host the event in May.

“With everything that happened over the past year, we are just happy to be able to hold this event at all,” Booster Board Member Brenda Jordt said. “It’s our biggest fundraiser of the year, so we are really hoping people can come out to help out our high school activities.”

The organization is coming off a year in which COVID restrictions kept them from being able to operate concession stands at Bigfork sporting events to raise money, meaning this year’s barbecue is more important than ever as the organization continues to provide uniforms for the school’s teams as well as several other improvement projects. The Boosters are currently funding a $65,000 resurfacing project for the track and recently completed a $15,000 resurfacing of the tennis courts.

“This is our way of helping out both the school-funded and unfunded activities (such as tennis, soccer, swimming and golf), so we go all out to raise as much money as we can for these kids,” Jordt said.

The barbecue event will also include a live and silent auction.

There will be 325 tickets available for the BBQ at $100 each. Ticket purchases include admission for two, food and beverages and entry into the drawing with a grand prize of $10,000.

Tickets are available at Bigfork High School, Bigfork Village Florist, from high school coaches or Booster board members.
