Mailbox issue becomes a sticky situation

Although she had no proof, a Kalispell woman was stuck on the idea that a relative had allegedly put glue in her mailbox lock and she was unable to insert the key. She was advised to set up cameras to capture any future tampering.

Flathead County Sheriff’s Office received a phone call from someone on Montana 35 in Kalispell who reported seeing a man allegedly taking a hit off of a pipe and then “shoot up” with a woman by a dumpster.

A large bonfire reportedly got out of control on Bear Trail in Whitefish and was just feet away from someone’s house.

A reportedly intoxicated woman was pushing and shoving someone on Montana 83 in Bigfork and fell on her face when the person moved out of the way.

Someone reported to the Kalispell Police Department that he heard a “really, really large boom.” He wasn’t sure if it was a gunshot or fireworks, but he believed it may have come from Leisure Island Park.

A woman reported a man continued to call a business claiming to be a police officer. She said he has posed as officer “McDonald” and officer “Jones” and has done it three times. Police advised the woman to keep track of when the man calls because it has been an issue for the last three years.

A caller reported two men lying underneath a vehicle with a flashlight. An officer determined they were interested in buying the car and wanted to take a closer look before making a decision.

A person reported the theft of an iPhone 7. She thought she may have left it in a shopping cart and someone picked it up.

Someone said a white and brown pit bull wearing a pink and gray coat lunged at her when she walked past. An officer investigated and explained that the dog was allowed on the premise, had not injured anyone and wasn’t running at large, so there was no basis to make a complaint.

The owner of a local watering hole said a man had been sleeping in his vehicle in his parking lot. When an officer arrived, he learned the camper was on the street, but told him he couldn’t camp there.

A man who was running a chain saw had stopped to take lunch break and when he returned, the tool was gone.

An oversized load got stuck in the Airport Road roundabout. He eventually got out of it and pulled over to let the backlog of traffic behind him move through.

A drug user nearly fainted in a bathroom according to a caller. The man had turned purple.
