In the two years Modern Plumbing and Heating in Kalispell has operated, it’s already an award-winning business.

Modern Plumbing and Heating was one of seven recipients of the 2018 Better Business Bureau Torch Award for Ethics in the Northwest and Pacific region. There were a total of 958 applications and nominations.

The award honors businesses’ commitment to ethics, integrity and building trust among their staff, customers and around their communities, according to a press release. Through a nomination and application process, businesses provide information and examples on how they follow the Better Business Bureau standards of excellence. Applications were judged by a panel of business and community leaders.

Modern Plumbing and Heating is owned by husband and wife team, Raun Grover, a master plumber with more than 12 years of experience, and Paige Grover, a Flathead High School graduate whose background includes design and project management for custom homebuilders. Modern Plumbing and Heating is a plumbing and hydronic heating and construction contractor offering residential and commercial plumbing and heating services, as well as remodeling and construction work.

“Integrity is the core of who we are in our business,” Paige Grover said.

Modern Plumbing and Heating prides itself the quality workmanship and customer service it delivers, which sets them apart from other companies, she said.

“Our motto is, ‘serviced once, customer for life,’” she said. “We are excited to build our loyal customer base one customer at a time by treating everyone with the respect, honesty, and fairness they deserve. Integrity is the core of who we are.”

Modern Plumbing and Heating also values providing customers with upfront and competitive pricing.

“We charge for time and material. We don’t charge flat-rate pricing,” Paige Grover said, and while that may result in a lower profit margin, it builds that long-term customer base.

The award affirms the route the Grovers have chosen in operating their business is working and that people are noticing.

Currently there are a total of four employees and the company is in the process of hiring more employees.

Another Kalispell company, Rocky Mountain Soothies, was among five finalists considered for the award. The company sells cold and heat wraps and pads.
