Joyce O. Cottet, 95

Joyce O. Cottet, 95, passed away on May 26, 2018, at Welcov Assisted Living in Kalispell.

Joyce was born in Priest River, Idaho, July 4, 1922, to Theodore and Alice Burton. At a young age the family moved to Kalispell where she graduated high school in 1940.

On Aug. 15, 1942, Joyce married Harold “Bud” Cottet in Kalispell, where she worked at Guest Photo Art while Bud was in the service.

After retiring, Joyce and Bud enjoyed going back East for his medical ship reunions, and visiting relatives in South Dakota, California and Washington.

Joyce was well known for her homemade lefse and doughnuts, enjoyed bowling, sewing club, gardening and exercising at the Senior Center.

She was a member of Epworth Methodist Church, a life member of Eagles 234 of Kalispell and a Gold Star Mother.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Elmer and Wallace Burton; sister, Hazel Stein; son, Duane Cottet; and husband Bud of 65 years.

She is survived by her son, Harold “Scott” and wife Karen of Spokane, granddaughter, Debora and husband Joe Fournier, great-granddaughter Kendra, and great-grandson Bridger, of Billings; and grandson Justin Cottet, wife Joan, and two great-granddaughters Evy and Elle, of Snohomish, Washington; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The families would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the Welcov Assisted Living employees, Frontier Hospice of Kalispell and those who chose to drive Joyce to church each Sunday.

Private graveside services will be held at a later date.
