Candidates to interview for Glacier High principal

Three candidates are slated to interview for the Glacier High School principal position on Wednesday.

The candidates are Micah Hill, assistant principal at Glacier High School in Kalispell; Ryan Rettig, principal at Washington Elementary in Kennewick, Washington; and Cody Reutzel, assistant principal at Stansbury High School in Stansbury Park, Utah. Interviews will begin 8 a.m. at the high school.

The position became available following the current Principal Callie Langohr’s promotion to assistant superintendent of Kalispell Public Schools.

Following is information about each candidate provided by Kalispell Public Schools.

Hill has served as an assistant principal at Glacier for the past 11 years. He started working in Kalispell Public Schools as an English teacher at Flathead High School in 2001. Hill holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English education from Montana State University — Bozeman and a master’s degree in educational leadership from the University of Montana — Missoula.

Rettig has taught high school since 2000 and started his first administrative role as the athletic and activities director for Umatilla High School in Oregon in 2006. Rettig received a Bachelor of Arts in social studies and English from Washington State University in Washington. He obtained a master’s in education administration from Heritage University.

Reutzel has served in an administration since 2014. Reutzel began his career in 2008, teaching in Lincoln School District in Montana. Reutzel earned a bachelor’s and master’s in engineering and technology education from Utah State University.
