Bigfork is bidding summer goodbye with a bang this weekend at the annual Rumble in the Bay car show.

The Rumble in the Bay “Year of the Classic Truck” will be Sunday, Sept. 4, with registration opening at 8 a.m. and the “show and shine” kicking off at 10 a.m. Awards will be announced at 2 p.m. in front of the Bigfork Center for the Performing Arts on Electric Avenue.

The event will include a Poker Walk, Best Custom Contest, 50/50 Split the Pot and many raffle prizes. Trophies will be awarded in many categories and there will drawings throughout the day.

There will be plenty of vintage vehicles to behold all day, but Bigfork is pulling out all the stops downtown. Rumble in the Bay includes live music at various venues, open galleries, restaurants and shops, street vendors and more.

Rumble in the Bay is one of the most popular car shows in the Northwest region. Participants in the past come from around the West, including Canada, to be a part of the event.

Rumble in the Bay began in 2007, and has been organized and operated by Bigfork VFW Post #4042 since 2012.

The event this year is “The Year of the Classic Truck,” and will also feature a film crew working on an episode of “My Classic Car with Dennis Gage” (www.myclassiccar.com).

Gage himself will be at the event, looking for unique and special trucks and cars to highlight on the episode.

Admission for spectators is free and the entire event is open to the public and appropriate for all ages.

Vehicles must register. Registration is $25 in advance and $30 on the day of the show. Registration opens Sunday at 8 a.m.

There will be a Rumble in the Bay pre-party on Saturday, Sept. 3, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Flathead V8 Museum in Bigfork. There is also a post-event party planned after the car show Sunday at the Tall Pine Lounge, 8111 Montana 35.
