This is not in the current subject of politics and the election. But I want everyone to read this and take it to heart.

Turning on your headlights when visibility is not good — whether it is darkness coming on or bad weather or whatever — is not about YOU being able to see! It is about ME being able to see you coming toward me, whether I am thinking of passing a car or just driving toward you.

I am truly amazed at the number of cars that do not turn on their lights on our many two-lane roads and put their lives at risk because someone may hit them because they don’t know they are there! They are also risking the lives of all the other people who are on the road.

Sometimes I blink on my high beam for a second to “remind” them — but they usually totally ignore it.

Please do me (and you and the ones who love you) a favor and turn on your lights so we can see you coming! — Phyllis Anderson, Bigfork
