Columbia Falls Police Department has increased police presence at the junior high after a threatening note was found in a bathroom.

“School shooting 5-26” was written on a bathroom stall, Superintendent Steve Bradshaw said. The bathroom is used by many students throughout the day, so the security cameras outside of the bathroom don’t give any clues as to when the threat was written or who wrote it, he said.

The district notified parents of the threat Tuesday. Bradshaw said this was to let the parents decide if it was safe to send their children to school.

Law enforcement plans to be at the junior high all day on May 26.

Columbia Falls Police Chief Dave Perry said they are “beefing up law enforcement presence at all the schools.”
