It's time to re-invest in Bigfork High School

| September 23, 2015 1:30 AM

As proud Bigfork HS Alumni – BHS Class of 1984 and 1987 – we have great memories of our high school experience and how well the faculty and staff helped prepare us for our future. We have been able to visit the high school from time to time over the past 30 years and it’s always great to come back to a place that has such great memories for our family!

We know – and the research shows it – the most important thing in the life of a student isn’t a thing – it is the classroom teacher and the adults who come into contact with students. We also know that a safe learning environment, along with the proper classroom equipment/technology, is right near the top. In order to prepare students to be both college and career ready they need both – the right people and the right equipment, technology and support.

When we were in school, the teachers made the most out of the facilities we had at BHS: however, what a high school student needs now has dramatically changed over the past thirty years. From science labs to vocational education to technology, our students deserve the best to make a difference when they leave school and become part of the work force.

The greatest thing a community can do is to invest in their youth. We thank all of the folks who invested in us and we appreciate the fact you expected to make a difference in our lives – you did! We applaud the Bigfork School District in their efforts to modernize the facilities for the students.

We know the Bigfork community supports their schools and expects to make a difference - It’s Time to Modernize BHS!

Sincerely,

Randy Russell, PhD – BHS Class of 1984

Kay (Russell) Curran – BHS Class of 1987

Ken Russell, EdD – BHS Class of 1987
