Twins win Sapa-Johnsrud in sweep

The Glacier Twins A squad hammered the Spokane Cannons 9-1 to take the title at the Sapa-Johnsrud Memorial Tournament in Whitefish.

Pitcher AJ Wetsch went the distance on the mound and Colten Parker went 3 for 3 from the plate to help the team win the championship July 12.

Jayce Fagerland also had a hot bat, going 2 for 3 and Kyler Howke had two RBIs.

The Twins are now 33-10 in American Legion baseball play.

The Twins went 4-0 in pool play to make it to the championship.

They beat the Spokane Mead Panthers 9-1 and squeaked past the Lethbridge Elks 3-2 on Saturday to advance. They beat the Spokane Dodgers 2-1 and Spokane Ferris 11-3 in the opening games of the tourney.

The Twins play the Mission Valley Mariners tonight (July 15) at home in a doubleheader. Game time is 5 p.m.
