Charles Hanson

Charles A. Hanson, 70, passed away at home surrounded by his loved ones, on Oct. 30, 2014.

He was born July 2, 1944 in Cut Bank to Walter and Dorothy Hanson. He graduated from high school in Browning and then joined the Army. He later moved to Butte to work for the Anaconda Company.

He had two daughters from a previous marriage. On July 1, 1979, Charles married his love, Sharon McLain. They moved to Columbia Falls, and Charles became a school bus driver for 30 years.

Charles loved hunting, camping, NASCAR, football, and most of all he enjoyed his six grandchildren, four great grandchildren and his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Dorothy, and his siblings Alma, James, Barbara and Paul.

He is survived by his loving wife Sharon, of Columbia Falls; daughters Billie Jo Johnson and husband Wes, of Marion, and Kandie Pettis and husband Kevin and their family, of Florida; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be a viewing at Columbia Mortuary in Columbia Falls on Wednesday, Nov. 5, from 5 to 7 p.m. Services for Charles will be held at Columbia Mortuary on Thursday, Nov. 6, at 11 a.m.
