Spring is here; the snow is coming off the mountains and making our rivers running high and fast. Bigfork Fire Department wants everyone to enjoy the water but make sure that everyone is wearing personal flotation devices when in and around the water. It appears that we will not have any flooding this year.

Burning permits are still required for open burning until June 30. After that, open burning will not be allowed until Oct. 1. Make sure to call air quality hotline at 751-8144 before you burn.

Bigfork Fire Department is selling 4th of July T-shirts. You can purchase them at the Bigfork Fire Hall.  For the month of May, Bigfork Fire Department responded to 52 incidents: Building Fire (2), Emergency medical service (4), EMS call, excluding vehicle accident with injury (34), Vehicle accident with injuries (3), Motor vehicle accident with no injuries (1), Swift water rescue (1), EMS standby (1), Gas leak (natural gas or LPG) (4), Dispatched and cancelled en route (1), Smoke detector activation , no fire – unintentional (1).

Be safe!
