The Columbia Falls girls soccer team dominated two conference foes last week to take sole possession of second place.

The Wildkats dispatched Bigfork in an Oct. 1 away game 8-0 and then hammered Libby 5-0 again on the road Oct. 4.

The girls are now 3-1-1. They faced Polson on Tuesday after presstime and then are on the road against rival Whitefish on Thursday. The girls need to win out to have a shot at the conference title.

Haley Purdy had a fine afternoon against Bigfork, knocking in four goals against the hapless Valkyries. The Kats outshot Bigfork 18-2.

Purdy also had two goals against Libby, and Lindsay Strouse is finding her form — she had two goals against Bigfork and one against Libby.
