| December 4, 2008 11:00 PM

The 12th annual West Shore Holidayfest is set for this Saturday, Dec. 6. This festive one-day event is held in the Lakeside School gymnasium from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. A great mix of attractions is offered throughout the day, with no admission charged.

Holidayfest hosts an appealing variety of exhibitors offering unique handmade gift choices in jewelry, woodwork, soaps, fine art, folk art, fabric art, home décor, clothing, childrens' items, pottery, Christmas cards and ornaments. In addition to shopping directly from a craftsperson or artist, an incredible selection of gift items and certificates for services will be available via silent bids in two auctions closing at noon and 3 p.m.

A fast-paced and entertaining live auction begins at 1 p.m. Come early to preview the unique merchandise, artwork and packages that have been donated by individuals and businesses in support of school projects in the Somers-Lakeside school district. This one-hour extravaganza is fun for the entire family.

Returning this year is the popular Kids-only Market, which gives children the opportunity to shop for their family members, on their own, as well as having the items wrapped at no charge. This unique booth will have a great assortment of items for under $7, with many priced at just a handful of change. New this year for kids 12 and under, is a free breakfast with Santa from 9-10 a.m., as well as ornament crafting until 11 a.m. Other highlights for children include photos with Santa, the best face painter in the valley, as well as entertaining musical presentations throughout the day.

Come partake in the large selection of baked goods, breakfast and lunch options. All day the kitchen will be offering delectable choices for all palates. At noon, a "Festival of Flavors" will offer special menu items from West Shore restaurants which will be available on a first-come-first-served basis.

The Lakeside-Somers Parent/Teacher Association is hosting Holidayfest on Dec. 6th and invites all their neighbors and visitors in the Flathead Valley and outlying areas to enjoy the festivities. There is something for everyone at Holidayfest. Visit Lakeside to enjoy the festive atmosphere, the great food and music, and find special Christmas presents for those on your list that appreciate quality and creativity.
