Alexander Lodinoff

Alexander Lodinoff, 80, passed away Oct. 18, 2006, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

He was born April 30, 1926, the son of Alex and Bertha Lodinoff, of Whitefish. He spent his entire life in Whitefish, with the exception of his service in World War II and in Korea.

He began his career working as a call boy for the Great Northern Railway, later becoming a machinist for the railroad. Later, he spent years working at the Anaconda Aluminum Co. plant.

He spent his spare time golfing and fishing. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed one.

Alex married Maxine Robertson in 1956 and adopted her two children, William "Bub" and Carol.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Maxine; daughter Carol Smith; brother Boris; and sisters Helen Ekholt and Hazel Irwin.

He is survived by his son Bub; sister Flora Anderson; son-in-law Jim Smith; grandsons Jason Lodinoff and Douglas Smith; granddaughters Kim Smith Geones and Jill Tagliareni; and several great grandchildren.

Funeral services will take place Thursday, Oct. 26, 2006 (today), at 11 a.m. Reception to follow services at Moose Lodge.
