There were some familiar names at the top of the leaderboard for the Boogie to the Bank race during Heritage Days Saturday.

| August 3, 2005 11:00 PM

There was also a racer from the past, who edged one of the top racers of the future.

Kalispell standout Zoe Nelson was edged by Kathleen Monaghan of Duluth, Minn. in the 10k race for the women's title.

Monaghan, was a top runner and record holder in the state 20 years ago ran for Miles City. She proved her moxy again on Saturday, beating the younger Nelson by nearly a minute.

Sarah Spencer of Bigfork won the women's 5k and Kurt Michels of Kalispell won the men's 5K.

Winning the men's 10K race was Michael Mancoske of Kalispell.

Monaghan was in town visiting family. Her sister is married to Columbia Falls native Jon Schwartz.
