Bigfork boys finish first at Libby Invite

The Bigfork boys track and field team won the Libby Invitational with 117 points Saturday at Loggers Stadium.

Browning was the runner-up with 108 points while Libby, Ronan, Eureka, Troy, Thompson Falls and Noxon followed.

The Vikings had winners in five events, led by Wyatt Johnson who won the 110 and 300 hurdles. Tayden West won the 200 dash, Jack Jensen claimed the 1,600 run and Tamret Savik won the triple jump.

Second-place finishers included Wyatt Barners in the triple jump and Tristen Herd in the pole vault. West was second in the 100 and David Jayne was third.

Barnes was fourth in the long jump and Savik was sixth in the long jump. Noah Pandina was fifth in the high jump, 

The 4x400-meter relay team, which included Johnson, Austin Savik, Tamret Savik and Jensen, was third.

The 4x100-meter relay team, which included Johnson, West, Jayne and Robert Merchant, was third.

Austin Savik was second in the 300 hurdles while Lance Peterson was second in the 110 event. Rylan Rodriguez was fifth in the 400 run.

In the girls invitational, Eureka’s 114.5 points gave it the win over runner-up Bigfork, which had 100 points. Browning was third with 93 and Libby was fourth with 70. 

Thompson Falls was fifth, Ronan sixth, Troy seventh and Noxon eighth.

The Valkyries had winners in two events and several top five placers.

The 4x100-meter relay team, including Danika Bucklin, Lilli Suffia, Ione Plummer and Afton Lambrecht, finished in 52.56 seconds.

Peyton Benson won the triple jump with a leap of 29 feet, 10 3/4 inches. She was fourth in the 200 dash.

Senior Callie Gembala was second in the discus, fifth in the triple jump and fourth in the javelin.

Mickie Anderson was second in the 300 hurdles and fourth in the 100 hurdles. Erika Dowling was fourth in the 3,200 run and Claire Jensen was fourth in the 1,600 run. 

Lambrecht was second in the 400 while Carly Tranel was fourth in the 100 dash and Suffia was fifth.

In the pole vault, Bucklin was third and Shannon Woll was fourth. Suffia was fourth in the high jump. Zoe Guffin was second in the javelin

Aspen Britt was fifth in the discus and Autumn Britt was sixth. Millie Hall was fifth in the shot put.

Bigfork returns to action Saturday at the Seeley Swan Invitational.
