LIBBY – A.J. Pacella scored 16 points, Corey Channey added 15 and the Eureka Lions held off Mission 49-41 Saturday for the District 7-B boys basketball tournament championship.

Bigfork rallied past Thompson Falls 45-36 to win the consolation, and all four teams advanced to the Western B Divisional Feb. 27-29 in Hamilton. They’ll play the top four teams from the District 6-B tournament.

Thompson Falls won the District 7B girls title 39-28 over Eureka.

Eureka 49, Mission 41

Jake Kindel added another 10 points for the Lions, who led 14-12 after one frame and 27-18 at halftime.

Porcella’s total included four 3-pointers.

Jedi Christy’s 14 points led Mission, and 10 of that came in the third quarter as the Bulldogs attempted to rally. Ross McPherson added nine points for Mission.

Colt Thorness scored eight of his 10 points after halftime and Bryce Gillard had seven of his 11 after intermission to help Bigfork rally past Thompson Falls in the consolation game of the District 7-B tournament Saturday.

Isak Epperly added another 10 points for the Vikings, six coming in the second half. Isaac Bjorge checked in with six points, nine rebounds and four blocks.

Nathan Schraeder scored 10 to lead the Bluehawks.

POLSON – The host Pirates put four players in double figures led by Xavier Fisher’s 15 points, but couldn’t quite catch Northwestern A leader Browning.

Colton Graham added 11 points and Anton Lefthand and Beau Kelley had 10 apiece for Polson (11-7, 7-3 in league games). The Pirates had two possessions in the final 20 seconds but got a shot off neither time.

Riley Spoonhunter’s 23 points led Browning (14-4, 9-1).

LIBBY ­­— Megan Baxter scored 14 points, six coming in the fourth quarter as Thompson Falls pulled away to beat Eureka in the District 7-B girls basketball championship.

Baxter’s efforts and a 3-pointer by Faith Fields helped the Bluehawks outscore the Lions 15-5 in the final frame.

Eureka had kept close behind eight points from Maggie Graves.

As with the boys tournament, all four teams that played Saturday advance to the Western B Divisional Feb. 27-29 in Hamilton.

Bigfork topped Mission 53-25 in the girls consolation game.

Ansleigh Edgerton poured in 19 points, 17 in the first half, to lead Bigfork past Mission in the District 7-B girls’ consolation game Saturday.

Emma Berreth added 14 points for the Valkries, who led 31-9 at halftime.

Aza Humphrey’s nine points led Mission.
