Glacier girls rout Big Sky; C-Falls rips Polson

The Glacier Wolfpack started an all-senior lineup and dominated from the start of a 64-29 Western AA girls basketball win over Missoula Big Sky Saturday.

Nine Glacier players scored, including senior Allee Meyer (four points), and just one reached double figures: junior Ellie Keller, who poured in a game-high 17 points.

Keller scored seven points in the third quarter as the Wolfpack (7-7, 5-4 in league) pushed a 28-17 halftime lead out to 55-22.

“When we execute team ball action offensively, it leads to many players scoring,” Glacier coach Amanda Cram said. “ I’m really proud of our program as we were able to sweep the Eagles and continue developing at all levels.”

Corbyn Sandau led Big Sky (0-14, 0-10) with eight points.

At Flathead High School, Montana State signee Lexi Deden scored 12 of her 16 points in the first half as Missoula Sentinel build a 31-12 lead, then held off Flathead.

The Bravettes (3-10, 2-7 in league) got two 3-pointers from Jenna Johnson and another from Maddy Moy to close the gap to 10, but came no closer. Johnson scored 14 points.

Challis Westwater added 14 points for Sentinel (11-2, 7-2). Kennedy Kanter had 10 points and five rebounds for Flathead.

COLUMBIA FALLS – Maddie Robison scored 14 points to lead three Columbia Falls players in double figures and the Wildkats made short work of another Northwestern A foe.

Josie Windauer added 12 points and LaKia Hill 10 for Columbia Falls (14-1, 6-1 in league). Polson fell to 0-14, 0-8.

THOMPSON FALLS — Karlee Frost hit a buzzer beater in the second overtime to give the Eureka Lions a victory over Thompson Falls in a District 7-B game.

Eureka’s Jadyn Pluid scored 15 points including two triples, one of which tied things up at the end of the first overtime.

Megan Hanson added 12 points for Eureka (12-4 overall, 5-2 conference). Avory Escobar grabbed 11 rebounds.

Thompson Falls’ Ellie Baxter led all scorers with 19 points, 11 of them coming in the fourth quarter and overtime.
