Most PacificCorp recreation sites remain open, few closed

| April 1, 2020 1:00 AM

In response to stay-at-home directives during the COVID-19 public health emergency, PacifiCorp is modifying operations of its recreation sites in Bigfork until further notice.

As part of the Bigfork Hydroelectric Project located on the Swan River, PacifiCorp facilities in Bigfork provide water access, picnicking and hiking opportunities. The recreation sites are all day-use only, no overnight camping is permitted.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, outlets for appropriately distanced recreation are important, as long as activities are done within state and federal health directives. PacificCorp is working to maintain these opportunities while observing guidelines pertaining to social distancing and safety.

At this time, closures will stay in effect until at least April 10 and perhaps longer, but may be re-evaluated to align with state stay-at-home orders.

Most trails and boat ramps will remain open unless noted below.

Restrictions apply to the following

areas:

Swan River Nature Trail – Restroom closed; Trail is open

Powerhouse Park – Open; Please follow social distancing protocol

Pacific Park – Closed

South Shore River and reservoir access – Open

Kearney Rapids Boat Launch – Open
