Road volleyball wins for C-Falls, Flathead and Libby

The Columbia Falls Wildkats volleyball team stymied the Whitefish Lady Bulldogs with hard serving and tough defense to earn a road win at Whitefish High School on Tuesday night.

The Kats won 25-5, 25-20, 25-11, though the Bulldogs fought back hard and almost won the second set.

“Columbia Falls came ready to play,” Whitefish coach Addy Connelly said. “We struggled with their serve and finding a way to put the ball down on their side of the net.”

Added Connelly: “We learned a lot about our mental toughness tonight and are ready to work hard tomorrow to get ready for Ronan.”

On Thursday, Whitefish plays an away game at Ronan and Columbia Falls visits Polson.

Both games start at 4:15 p.m.

MISSOULA — The Flathead Bravettes beat Western AA conference opponent Missoula Hellgate in three sets.

“It was a good conference win for us tonight.,” Flathead coach Nicole Fairclough said. “I felt we passed well and served Hellgate tough. I’m proud of the girls for getting it done in three.”

Flathead won 26-24, 25-20, 25-18.

The Bravettes host Butte at 7 p.m. on Friday.
