Michael Stoken, 65

| September 11, 2019 2:00 AM

Michael Stoken, 65, passed away surrounded by his family on Thursday, Sept. 5, 2019. You may not have known him but he made your life better.

He was born in Eureka in 1954. Despite his rough, stoic and stubborn ways, there is actual evidence that he was a loving, caring, generous person. That evidence is the deep sorrow and pain in our hearts that his family feels from his passing — a man of unshakable character, strength and courage. A passion for hard work and love of the woods led Mike and his twin brother Pat to start Stoken Logging in 1978. Against all bets, they became one of the largest logging operations in Northwest Montana.

He leaves behind the love of his life, his wife Angela, and his four-legged sidekick, Toby; a son to Joe and Hazel, a brother to Eddie, Dorothy, Donna, Marlene and his identical brother, Pat; father to Destin, Shalon, Tia, Joelle, Brian, Nikki, Gabriela, Daniella and Antonio; a loving grandfather of 10; an uncle to many nieces and nephews, and a wonderful man who will be missed by all.

So now we say goodbye to our Rockstar. His tires were well worn and he was ready to meet his maker.

A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 12, at Darlington Cremation and Burial Service, 3408 U.S. Hwy. 2 East, Kalispell. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 13, at Canvas Church, 255 Summit Ridge Drive, Kalispell. Interment will follow at C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery, 641 Conrad Drive, Kalispell.
