Lanis Leander Reynolds, 79

Lanis Leander Reynolds was born June 26, 1940.

Lanis died on July 31, 2019, after a short battle with brain cancer.

When his father, Carl Dewitt, retired the family moved back home to Kalispell where Lanis spent his teenage years selling Christmas trees in the winter and working in the cherry orchards in the summer. He was recognized as a top wrestler, taking first place in the State Championship for Flathead County High School.

After high school in 1958 Lanis enlisted in the Navy where he met and married Janet Adams. After his Navy days he was employed in the power industry. Lanis’ Civil Service career was spent working in hydroelectric power, working in Page and Bullhead City, Arizona, Redding, California, and Montrose, Colorado.

After retirement in 1994 he returned to Arizona where he lived the remainder of his life. Golf was Lanis’ favorite pastime, carrying a 4 handicap and holding the office of president in the local Men’s Golf Club.

Lanis leaves his wife Janet, son Kevin, daughters Dawn and Shelley Reed, and his grandchildren Luke Wright and Kayla and Faith Reynolds. Lanis is also survived by sisters Carleen Francis of Eagle, Idaho, and Bonnie Iverson (Terry) of Idaho Falls, Idaho and one brother Donald Reynolds (Deborah) of Rainier, Oregon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Marysnow Reynolds, and two brothers, Merle William and Patrick Michael Reynolds.
