Grammy winner Gretchen Wilson to perform at fair

Multi-platinum Nashville recording artist Gretchen Wilson will perform at the 2019 Northwest Montana Fair & Rodeo in Kalispell on Aug. 14. The 2019 Northwest Montana Fair & Rodeo is scheduled for Aug. 14-18 at the Flathead County Fairgrounds with a theme of “Capture Montana’s Best Days of Summer.” Tickets for the Wilson concert and all other Grandstand events are now available for purchase online and at the fairgrounds office.

Country music lovers know Wilson for hit songs such as “Red Neck Woman,” “Here for the Party,” “When I Think About Cheatin’,” “All Jacked Up,” “Homewrecker” and many others. Wilson has sold more than 10 million albums worldwide and has been nominated for multiple Grammy and American Country Music awards. In 2005, Wilson bested Shania Twain, Martina McBride, Alison Krause and Loretta Lynn to capture the Grammy Award for Best Female Country Vocal Performance for her debut hit song, “Red Neck Woman.”

Advance-purchase general admission adult tickets for the Wilson concert are $34, reserved seating tickets are $42, and party pit tickets are $48. General admission tickets for children ages six to 12 are $20, and children ages five and under are admitted free of charge. All tickets purchased prior to arriving at the fair include admission to the grounds.

The Ram PRCA Rodeo runs Aug. 15-17 and will feature world-class male and female competitors from Canada and the U.S. aiming for the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas. Events include bareback, saddle bronc, steer wrestling, tie-down roping, team roping, barrel racing and bull riding. Advance-purchase adult tickets range from $20 to $25, with seniors admitted for $10 on August 15. General admission tickets for children ages six to 12 are $10, and children ages five and are admitted for free in general admission seating.

The fair comes to a smashing close with the NAPA Auto Parts Demolition Derby on Aug. 18 with drivers competing for cash prizes. Adult tickets are $20, children ages six to 12 are admitted for $10, and children ages 5 and under are admitted for free.

In addition to the Grandstand events, the fair will feature thousands of exhibits and displays, including agriculture, horticulture, livestock, home economics, arts, crafts and more.

“Since 1902, the annual Northwest Montana Fair & Rodeo has been the regional celebration of summer in the Flathead Valley,” said Fairgrounds Manager Mark Campbell. “The culmination of harvest and showcase of talent displayed represents the very best of our community.”

“The fair only lasts for a short five days each year, so this year’s theme is about making the most of it,” Campbell said. “We encourage our guests to ‘capture’ their favorite fair moments and share them with family and friends on social media.”
