Canine Expo

A Canine Expo Extravaganza takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Gateway Community Center in Kalispell.

The pet-friendly event invites members of the community to check out a host of canine resources available locally, including booths and information by trainers, groomers, pet-sitters, boarding facility operators, photographers, artists and other vendors.

Veterinarians and nonprofits will offer mini-seminars on various dog-centered topics.

Discover a variety of breeds during the “Meet the Breed” event.

Admission is free to the public and dogs are welcome as long as they are leashed, dog-friendly and people-friendly.

‘Inside Iran’

Ruth and Sam Neff of Whitefish present a program titled “A Look Inside Iran,” at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Whitefish Community Library community room, located at 9 Spokane Ave. Everyone is welcome.

Spirits tasting

Somers Company Town Project hosts its ninth annual Spirits of the Valley Tasting event from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Best Western Plus Flathead Inn and Suites located at 4823 U.S. 93 S., just north of Somers.

The price is $25, which includes appetizers and desserts, spirits tasting from beer from Tamarack Brewing Company and various wines from the Northwest.

Entertainment will be provided by Billy Angel. A silent auction and raffles will also take place. Tickets are available at the door.

The event is a fundraiser for the Somers Company Town Project history preservation group, which is raising funds to enhance exhibits in the Somers Company Town Museum in downtown Somers.

Spaghetti dinner

Flathead Lutherans for Life sponsor an all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner and silent auction from noon to 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 400 W. California St., in Kalispell.

Michelle Reimer of Hope Pregnancy Ministries will give an update. A free-will offering benefits Hope Pregnancy Ministry, A Place of Refuge Home and other projects.
