Martin City fire victim ID'd

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office has identified the woman who died in a fire last week in Martin City as Karen Short, 54.

Short died when her home caught fire on Feb. 28. Investigators believe a wood stove started the fire at the Short residence off Central Avenue in Martin City.

Firefighters from Martin City, Hungry Horse, Bad Rock and Coram-West Glacier responded to the blaze about 2:30 p.m. Feb. 28. The house was fulled engulfed in flames when the call went out.
