Carpenter, Noctor capture Montana junior golf titles

BILLINGS — Carrie Carpenter of Billings was a wire-to-wire winner at the Montana State Junior Championships at Lake Hills Golf Club.

Carpenter opened with a 73 on Monday and closed with a 76 on Tuesday for a 149 score.

She finished eight shots ahead of Laurel Ward of Bozeman.

Kaven Noctor of Butte shot a 1-under-par 71 to capture the boys championship on the final day.

Noctor carded a 73 on Monday, which had him one shot behind leader J.R. Small of Bozeman.

Small closed with a 73 to finish one shot back.
