Mission Valley falls to Bucs

FLORENCE — Trevor Lake batted 3-for-4 and Alex Muzquiz was 2-for-4, but it wasn’t enough on Monday as the Mission Valley Mariners fell 9-8 to the host Bitterroot Bucs at the A Montana-Alberta American Legion baseball tournament.

The Mariners led 7-5 after four innings, but the Bucs scored two runs in the fifth and sixth innings to pull out the victory.

Mission Valley racked up 10 hits, but Bitterroot had a dozen hits. Each team committed two errors.

Eric Dolence had three RBI for the Mariners and Dawson Dumont had two.

Brendan Schneiter and Jake Scully each batted 3-for-3 for Bitterroot.
