Two dead, one injured in Fourth of July crash

Two people died in a head-on vehicle crash late Thursday on Montana 35.

According to a dispatcher with Montana Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at about 11:53 p.m. at milemarker 48 near Woody’s Country Store.

The patrol said a vehicle driving north crossed into the southbound lane and collided with a southbound vehicle.

Both people in the vehicle driving south were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle was taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

Alcohol was suspected in the crash. All three people involved were wearing their seat belts.

Names of the victims have not yet been released, pending notification of family members.
