Three seats on Flathead Electric Cooperatives’ Board of Trustees are up for election this year. Potential candidates must be members of the co-op and live in the district they seek election to represent. The nominating petition requires 25 signatures from co-op members who also live in the candidate’s district. Nominating petitions with a photograph and biography (100 words or less) are due to Flathead Electric by Feb. 28.

Trustee seats up for election are currently held by Stacey Schnebel, District 1 (Columbia Falls to Essex); Doug Grob, District 4 (Helena Flats, Columbia Falls Stage); and Gary Boe, District 7 (Kalispell, south of U.S. 2). A district map showing exact boundaries is available on the Flathead Electric website.

Candidates will have the opportunity to give a three-minute speech to the membership at the annual meeting on March 16. Ballots will go out March 15 for a mail-in election. For more information or to obtain a nominating petition, call 406-751-4444.

Chamber luncheon discusses 2019 business agenda

The Kalispell Chamber of Commerce will discuss the Kalispell Business Agenda at the monthly lunch on Tuesday, Jan. 15, at the Red Lion. The Chamber will review successes from the past year, share strategic initiatives and plans for 2019, and highlight areas of focus for the current legislative session.

Cost is $20 for members and $25 for nonmembers. Anyone not interested in not eating lunch may watch the program at no cost.

Program looks at effects of childhood trauma

The January Thinking Thursday event from 8:30 to 10 a.m. on Jan. 17 at the Kalispell Chamber of Commerce will focus on how the Adverse Childhood Experiences Study might be relevant to your workplace.

Intermountain Chief Executive Officer Jim FitzGerald will provide an overview of the study and describe the benefit of becoming an informed organization in supporting co-workers, employees and clients who are struggling with childhood experiences into adulthood.

Goal-setting for Flathead Young Professionals

Flathead Area Young Professionals is holding a career goal-setting program on Wednesday, Jan. 16, from 8 to 9 a.m. in the Kalispell Chamber conference room.

Employment agency LC Staffing is hosting a discussion on ways that young professionals between the ages of 21 and 39 can map out career goals for 2019 and beyond.
