Kalispell downtown parking changes add space

| April 7, 2019 2:00 AM

After a public process and City Council approval, several parking changes will be made on specific blocks in downtown Kalispell. These changes are the result of a field review to improve parking within the Business Improvement District and a subsequent analysis to determine feasibility and safety.

Two-hour parking designations have been removed in the following areas:

- Fifth Street West, from Second Avenue West to Main Street;

- Third Street East, from Second Avenue East to Third Avenue East;

- Third Street West, from Second Avenue West to First Avenue West;

- First Street West, from Second Avenue West to First Avenue West.

Diagonal parking will also be installed on Fifth Street West between First Avenue West and Main Street, and Third Street East between Second Avenue East and Third Avenue East. The Kalispell Traffic Signs and Signals Division will be grinding out the current parallel parking lines and painting new angle parking spots in their place. Modifications to create diagonal parking will add 10 new parking spaces downtown.
