Linda Simpson Cloutier passed away peacefully at her home in Kalispell on Nov. 14, 2018, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

She was born Dec. 2, 1948, to Hap and Helen Simpson of Kalispell. She graduated from Flathead High School in 1967 and went on to attend Pacific Lutheran University and the University of Montana where she was affiliated with Kappa Alpha Theta. She met Brian Cloutier while at school in Missoula and they married in 1969. They moved to Kirkland, Washington, where their daughter Lisa was born in 1970. They then moved to Sacramento, California before returning to Kalispell in 1974 after purchasing Glacier Insurance. They later owned and operated Home Oxygen Company and were partners in the development of Eagle Bend and Northern Pines golf courses. Linda spent many sunny winters at Bermuda Dunes Country Club in the California desert and enjoyed summers on the east shore of Flathead Lake. Over the last 20 years Linda helped in the management of her daughter Lisa’s businesses in Woods Bay where her delightful, loving and humorous personality was much appreciated by all.

Linda had a great love of travel and saw many locals throughout world with friends and her daughters Jenny and Lisa. She particularly loved the beaches of Hawaii and the Caribbean, a trip to China in 1983 with here parents, and a very special journey to Churchill, Manitoba, in 2003 to see polar bears. Glacier Park was her happy place on earth where she enjoyed countless drives to Logan Pass, picnics on Lake McDonald and walks with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hap and Helen Simpson, formerly of Kalispell.

She is survived by her daughter Lisa Cloutier and husband Brian Anderson of Bigfork; daughter Jenny of Whitefish; her brother Larry Simpson and his wife Margie of Kalispell; and twin sister Kay Leary and her husband Tom of Glenbrook, Nevada.
