Eureka second at B-C divisional softball

FLORENCE — Eureka finished second at the Western B-C divisional softball tournament on Saturday.

Florence beat Eureka 22-2 in the undefeated game of the double-elimination tournament and then 13-1 in the championship game.

The season ends with the Class B-C state tournament, which begins Thursday in Belgrade.

BROWNING — Ronan did all of its scoring in two innings, the first two, to blow out Browning in a Northwest A contest.

Ronan tallied 11 runs in the first and came right back with 13 more in the second.

Gabby Wirz pitched a no-hitter for Ronan.

It was the regular-season finale for both teams.

The Class A state tournament begins Thursday in Frenchtown.

COLUMBIA FALLS — Trista Cowan singled, doubled and homered and drove in six runs to power Columbia Falls to a Northwest A win over Whitefish in the regular-season finale for both teams.

Raychel Hoerner, Ryley Kehr and Tori Briscoe also had three hits each.

Columbia Falls opened the contest with a 10-run first inning.

Class A state tournament play begins Thursday in Frenchtown.
