Share Your Voice offers art workshop

| May 9, 2018 4:27 PM

The Share Your Voice Foundation is offering scholarships to teenagers age 13-17 to attend the weeklong Empowerment Through Performance Workshop.

This an innovative program designed to build confidence and creative leadership through an arts-based curriculum.

The workshop will take place July 23-28, 2018. We are ready to inspire and empower teens aged 13-17!

We believe youth in our community want to express themselves, but may lack personal skills to communicate and share their innate talents. Our annual workshop, held every summer for the past 10 years, has encouraged kids to share their voice and present their talents.

This workshop provides an opportunity for youth to participate and create in a non-judgmental setting. The ability to creatively speak out, work collaboratively and move beyond comfort zones has the potential to transform lives.

Teens are able to explore the world of visual arts through a film project, writing a song with a professional or through a theatrical performance. A limited number of positions are available by application. Scholarships are provided for each participant, but space is extremely limited. To nominate a student please visit www.shareyourvoicefoundation.org/nominateparticipant. Applications are now being accepted through today, May 10.

The Share Your Voice Foundation is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide empowering opportunities for people to find, believe in and share their own voice through the transformative creative process and power of the arts.

SYVF strongly believes in the transformative power of arts-based education to change lives. Through interactive exploration of culture and the production of performance in all its manifest delights, we encourage participants to unleash their creativity in a safe environment while improving self-esteem and developing strong communication skills.

Participants are encouraged and guided to discover their own innate talents, cultivate a sense of pride and appreciate the importance of collaborating with others. Ultimately, the main objective is to help future generations find and share their unique and individual voice for the betterment of our community.
