Colby Scott Burrows, 31

| March 25, 2018 2:00 AM

Colby Scott Burrows died as the result of an automobile accident on Dec. 13, 2017 at the age of 31.

He was born on Aug. 14, 1986 in Whitefish, the son of Mike and Teri (Davis) Burrows, and their world was instantly brighter. He was a happy and smiley baby who never knew a stranger. He couldn’t help but smile at everyone he met, something that continued until the end of his life. He was raised in Kalispell.

He wanted a baby brother and told people that his mom was expecting even though she wasn’t. Finally when he was 5 years old he got his wish and fell in love at first sight with his baby brother Ryan. He was an awesome big brother to Ryan and very protective of him. Colby fell in love at first sight again when his niece Est’ee Rose was born in 2014. He loved that little girl with his whole heart and even shed tears when he held her for the first time.

Colby spent many hours with his family and friends skiing, camping, rafting and mountain climbing. In September, he climbed Half Dome in Yosemite. He loved Kentucky basketball, Star Wars, gaming, reading, discussing current events and especially music. He was a very talented guitarist and was known to bring his guitar along to play when he would visit friends and family.

He graduated from Flathead High School in 2005.

When Colby was 18 years old he dedicated his life to Jehovah God and was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. At one time he served as a ministerial servant and a regular pioneer in the Valley View Congre-gation in Kalispell. He enjoyed going in the ministry and talking to people about Jehovah and his son Jesus. He loved the promises of the paradise that God’s kingdom will soon bring.

We are all looking forward to welcoming him back as it says in John 5:28 — “The hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out.” At Isaiah 25:8 it says “He will swallow up death forever, and the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will wipe away the tears from all faces.”

“All of Colby’s friends and family are awaiting that wonderful time when they will be reunited with him when he is resurrected right here on earth. What a wonderful day that will be. We can’t wait to see him again, get one of his great hugs, and see his goofy smile.”

Colby is survived by his parents; his brother Ryan and wife Brianna Burrows and their daughter Est’ee Rose in Prescott Valley, Arizona; his grandparents, Joan Burrows, Carl and Dianna Davis, all of Kalispell; and his great-grandmother, Janie “Booty” Davis of Calhoun, Kentucky; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends from all over the world.

A memorial was held on Dec. 18, attended by a great many family and friends. We just couldn’t bear to write his obituary at that time.
