Good Samaritan clears tree from road in Whitefish

On Friday night just before 7 p.m. and in the midst of a storm, a tree fell across Wisconsin Avenue in Whitefish and blocked both lanes of traffic.

No one was hurt, but before emergency services arrived to clear the hurdle a man named Johnny Flores got out of his Subaru in the backed-up line of traffic and began dismantling the tree and clearing it from the road.

Cars were moving again in about five minutes.

Local eyewitness Laura Osterman recounted the event to the Daily Inter Lake with photographic evidence. She said she wanted to share it with the community because it was an example of a local doing a good deed they expected no attention for, and she felt recognition was in order.
