Cannonball! Vehicle goes into river

A vehicle that ended up in the Flathead River caused some alarm for the rafter who reported it. Officials determined the car was being towed by another vehicle and had come loose from the hitch, went over a cliff and into the water.

Someone called the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office to report a person had their kids in a trailer that was being towed by a 4-wheeler. The kids weren’t strapped in or wearing helmets.

Two people from Colorado were sleeping in a vehicle at the old gravel boat launch and blocked others from using it. A deputy woke the people up and got them out of the way.

A caller reported his wife was drinking “Wild Turkey” and pushed him in the chest. He left the residence and she locked him out, so he decided to go elsewhere for the night.

A report of a business on fire turned out to be a false alarm after people buffing the floors caused some smoke, setting off the alarm.

Someone reported to the Columbia Falls Police Department that an obese woman wearing a red tank top was drinking in a bar while her four little girls were roaming around outside.

A caller reported a suspicious vehicle on Nucleus Avenue, but an officer learned she was just waiting for parts for her car.

A caller thought it was odd that two teenagers were pushing a go-cart down the road at about 5:30 a.m. When an officer investigated he learned one of the teens owned the cart and had pushed it to a friend’s home to work on it.

A man called the Whitefish Police Department asking about getting a restraining order against his son, who was getting out of prison in Utah.

A caller was concerned for the welfare of a crying child who was sitting outside on the patio of a bar. The caller said his father wouldn’t let the child inside the bar, but later came out to try and calm the child.

A visitor called to report a deer walking through the area on 1st Street. She wanted law enforcement to know so they could relocate it somewhere safer.

A man called the Kalispell Police Department to explain his argument with his wife while they were driving through downtown. He said when she stopped the vehicle, he took the keys and got out. She then yelled that he had hit her, which resulted in another man confronting her husband. The man went to the police office because the man and others were waiting for him at the vehicle. Police determined there was a warrant for the woman’s arrest and she was taken into custody.
