The Whitefish boys wrapped up regular-season Class A tennis action on Saturday on the courts at Flathead Valley Community College with two impressive victories — 6-1 over Hamilton and 5-2 over Corvallis.

Brendan Buls, Jayce Cripe and Noah Fauth were all 2-0 in singles play for Whitefish as were Colter Upton and Zach Brandt and Jamie Schwartz and Leo Motti in doubles.

“We finished the regular season on a high note, going 14-1 in dual matches,” Whitefish coach Chris Schwaderer said.

“Any time we can pick up a couple of wins against Hamilton and Corvallis, it’s a good day because they are both really solid programs.

“Our only loss of the season came against Hamilton a couple weeks ago, and our guys weren’t real happy about it,” Schwaderer continued.

“This was our chance to settle the account. But dual matches are really just about pride. Now it’s on to the divisional tournament at Libby, and we have to move forward with the same attitude that we’ve had all year long. We have a great bunch of guys and a great tennis culture, and they can’t wait to hit the courts at divisionals to represent Whitefish.”

Whitefish’s Claire Carloss at No. 1 singles and Olivia Potthoff and Aubrey Hanks at No. 1 doubles were battle tested in girls action with Hamilton and Corvallis.

Carloss won 6-4, 7-5 over Sarah Trinh of Hamilton and 1-6, 7-6 (7-5), 1-0 (10-3) over Emile Thomas of Corvallis.

Potthoff and Hanks left the courts with an easy 6-0, 6-2 win over Hamilton, but survived a wild 2-6, 6-4, 7-6 (7-1) victory against Corvallis.

Whitefish beat Hamilton in the dual 5-2, and Corvallis 4-3.
