The final push for state track begins today at three locations in Western Montana.

The divisional for Western AA be held at Legends Stadium, Western A is in Corvallis and Western B in Missoula.

All three meets are two-day events.

Competing with Flathead and Glacier at Legends Stadium will be Helena High and Helena Capital along with Missoula Big Sky, Hellgate and Sentinel.

The first event today is the pole vault at 2 p.m. The first running event will be the 400 meter finals at 3 p.m.

Saturday’s schedule starts with the high jump, triple jump and discus at 10:30 a.m.

Running events being with the 110 hurdle finals at 11:30.

The top six finishers (including ties) in all events qualify for state, which will be held May 27-27 in Butte.

Also advancing to state are athletes who have met preset qualifying standards at meets earlier this spring.

The Flathead boys finished second, and seven points behind Helena High, at last year’s divisional in Helena.

The Glacier girls were a distant second behind team champion Missoula Sentinel.

The Glacier boys were third and the Flathead girls placed sixth.

Corvallis swept divisional A titles last year while the Thompson Falls boys and Bigfork girls captured crowns in the B divisional.

The State A/C meet is May 26-27 is in Missoula. State B is also in Butte.
